SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) is a national-level computer-based test. This test should be attained by students seeking admission in MBA/M.Sc programs. The test is administered by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University. Colleges accepting SNAP scores are affiliated to Symbiosis International University, Pune offering MBA programs in different streams. Clearing test offers more than 26 MBA/M.Sc programs are rendered by 15 SIU-affiliated institutes. The test is conducted in 90 cities across India.

SNAP Syllabus

General English

Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability, Verbal Reasoning, Different usage of same words, sentence completion, Odd one out, one-word substitution, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms, Sentence correction, Jumbled Paragraphs, Fill ups.

TIP: Read newspapers, blogs, business reports, etc. to perform well in this section. Usually, two RC passage questions are asked under this section which is either inference based or fact-based

Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency

Profit and Loss, Number Systems, Probability, Inequalities, Coordinate Geometry, Work, Pipe and Cisterns, Averages, LCM & HCF, Speed, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Progressions-AP, GP, HP, Mensuration, Vectors, Logarithm, Trigonometry, Graphs and Tables, Ratio and Proportion, Data Interpretation based on Text, Venn Diagram, Calendar & Clock.

TIP: Have a clear understanding of the fundamental concepts and do remember all the theorems and formulae to score well in this section. Read ahead to know the topics.

Analytical & Logical Reasoning

Linear Arrangements, Matrix Arrangements, Puzzles, Syllogisms, Functions, Statement and Conclusion, Sequencing, Coding & Decoding, Number Series, Symbol based problems.  

TIP: Candidates should use their reasoning ability when attempting this section. The practice below mentioned topics to ace this section.

Exam Pattern

  • SNAP 2023 exam comprises 3 sections:
    • General English
    • Quantitative- Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency
    • Analytical & Logical Reasoning
  • Test duration is 60 minutes (1 hour).
  • SNAP exam consists of MCQs only.
  • Total number of slots available is 3.
  • Total questions asked in the SNAP exam are 60 making a total of 60 marks.
  • Exam is in the English language.
  • Number of attempts offered is 3.
  • 1 mark for each correct answer.
  • 0.25 mark reduction for each incorrect answer.

NOTE: If the candidate appears for 3 tests for the SNAP exam, the higher score will be considered for the final percentile calculation. No normalization of the score would be done.

Exam Eligibility

To be eligible for the SNAP exam below mentioned criteria should be fulfilled:

  • Aspirants should be citizens of India.
  • Aspirant should have an undergraduate degree from any recognized university with a minimum percentage of:
  • General- 50%
  • SC/ST- 45%.
  • Aspirants in their graduation year can also apply for the exam.
  • Aspirants who completed their education from a foreign university should attain a certificate from the AIU (Association of Indian University).

Papers

Mock Tests

Candidates those who are done with the registration are eligible for the mock test.

  • SNAP mock test is usually conducted in the mid of the November month.
  • Candidates need to book their slot an hour before the mock starts.
  • Login credentials will be required for both slot booking as well as for taking mock.
  • The total duration of the mock test is 1 hour.
  • Each question offers 1 mark.
  • An incorrect answer offers a 0.25 mark deduction.
  • Candidates can switch from one section to another.

GDPI WAT

Candidates need to attend all the events of the SNAP test in order to be eligible for the PG program.

SNAP 2023 exam comprises the following events:

  1. SNAP entrance test
  2. Registration
  3. Group Exercise (GE)
  4. Personal Interaction (PI)
  5. Written Ability Test (WAT)

Once the candidate qualifies for the SNAP 2023 exam, s/he is called for the second stage (Stage-2) of the qualifying process ‘GE-PIWAT’ (Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Test).

SNAP exam’s participating colleges conduct the admission process separately for every program. Hence, candidates need to register themselves with the participating institutes separately.

STAGE-2 includes the following 3 steps:

Group Exercise (GE)

Candidates who clear the cut-off list will be called for the GE round. Further, they should check the respective institute’s website for dates and additional details on GE-PIWAT.

In this round candidates are divided into a group of 7-8, allotted a topic and they discuss about the same at an allotted time of 15-20 minutes. Here each candidate is on their communication skill, problem-solving ability as well as focusing potential.

Personal Interaction (PI)

Shortlisted candidates of the GE round are called for a personal interaction round.

Writing Ability Test (WAT)

Here the authorities give a topic to the candidate for essay writing which is a pen-paper-based test.

The test determines the candidate’s knowledge of grammar, vocabulary as well as writing skills.

Depending on the candidate’s percentage, they may get selected for more than one program. In that case, candidates need to participate in the GE-PIWAT separately for each program.

Based on the candidate’s performance in an entrance exam, group exercise, personal interaction, and WAT, the merit list is published by all the participating institutes.

Once these rounds are over, the counseling date will also be released by the SIU authorities.

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, known as SNAP is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for admission to management programmes offered by its affiliated institutes and other private B-schools.
There are more than 35 SNAP colleges in India and all are privately owned. They accept the SNAP score as a way of shortlisting applicants for MBA/PGDM admissions and include group discussion and personal interviews (GD-PI)
The minimum educational requirement is having graduated from any recognized University or Institution of National Importance and must have attained a minimum of 50% marks, or an equivalent grade. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category have to get at least 45% in their graduation.
SNAP syllabus includes topics from Analytical & Logical Reasoning, Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, and General English
The SNAP Exam is a computer-based objective test of 60 minutes. The Exam structure is composed of three sections. The students have the option to move between sections.
