CUET (formerly known as CUCET) is a national-level entrance for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG), Integrated, Post-graduate (PG), Diploma, and Research Programs in participating universities in India. CUCET was administered by the Central University of Rajasthan for 12 Central universities from the year 2010 to 2020.
Later in the year 2021, National Testing Agency took charge of the CUET exam, and it made it compulsory for all 43 universities to endorse the exam.
CUET (UG) Application Form
How to apply for CUET (UG) exam?
Before filling out the online application form for CUET, the candidate should thoroughly go through the ‘Information Bulletin’ published by NTA on the official website. Then candidates should follow the below-mentioned steps to fill in the CUET application form.
- Open the official website https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/ where the candidate will be directed to the home page. Click on the ‘Register’ button.
- The page consisting of instructions and procedures will appear. Candidates should properly read the instructions and put a tick in the check box (I have downloaded the Information Bulletin of CUET (UG)), then tap on the ‘Click here to Proceed’ button.
- Later fill in the personal details, present address, and other relevant details. Choose a password and enter the security pin in the ‘Registration Form’.
- Once the candidate fills in the details, preview the information. If the candidate wants to make any changes, he/she may do so by tapping on ‘Edit Registration Details’. When verified, the candidate should tap on the ‘submit and send OTP to mobile’ button.
- Once the OTP verification process is done, applicants receive the application form number on their registered mobile number or email ID. One should always note down the application form number for further reference.
- Candidates can log in using the application number and password.
- Tap on ‘Continue application form’ and fill in the requisite details such as educational qualification, university name, and program, test paper for slots 1 and 2 of the examination, and upload relevant documents like a photograph and signature.
- Click on the ‘Save’ button and then preview the entered details in the application form. Click on the checkboxes. Then click on the final submission and pay the application fee.

Application Fee for CUET (UG)
- Application fee can be paid online mode only via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI, or Paytm Services.
- Candidates have to pay processing charges and GST in addition to the application fee.
- Once the payment of the application fee is successful, the confirmation page is generated. In case, the candidate is unable to access the confirmation page, he/she should connect the bank or payment gateway on the helpline number and email mentioned in the ‘Information Bulletin’ published by the NTA.

CUET Exam Dates (UG) 2024
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2024 is conducted across the nation by National Testing Agency (NTA). The CUET exam enables applicants to get admission into undergraduate program of any one of the 86 recognized universities, like Banaras Hindu University, Delhi University, and many more.

Eligibility Criteria for CUET (UG)
Candidates should fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria if planning to appear for CUET 2024:
- Irrespective of age, candidates who have cleared class 12 or equivalent exams or are appearing in 2024 can attempt CUET (UG)-2024. But if a candidate wishes to apply for a particular university then he/she should check and fulfill the age criteria specified by the particular university.
- No age limit is specified for the candidates willing to apply for the CUET exam.
- Candidates should carefully read the eligibility criteria (including qualification, subject combinations, reservations, etc.) of each university they wish to apply for.
- Candidates should fulfill the program-specific criteria prescribed by the University they are applying for.
CUET RESERVATION POLICY
Central Universities have their reservation policy. Candidates should go through the policies of each university, they wish to apply for and upload all the requisite documents while filling out the online application form.
CUET Exam Pattern
Candidates must have a clear understanding of the CUET exam pattern to strategize their CUET exam preparation. Read ahead to know the details of the CUET 2024 exam pattern.
- CUET (UG) is a computer-based test (CBT) comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Each question carries 5 marks and a total of 200 marks are awarded for each section.
- 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
CUET exam is divided into three sections:

Scheme of CUET examination
- For Section 1A: Any of the languages may be chosen from 13 different languages.
- For Section 1B: Any of the languages may be chosen from 20 different languages.
- For Section 2- Domain: A candidate may choose any subject from 27 domains specific subjects (as specified by the applicable University/ Universities).
- For Section 3- General Test: General test is being used for admission by Universities offering undergraduate program/ programs.

Key Points: CUET Exam Pattern
- Depending on the number of candidates and subject choices, the CUET exam is conducted on multiple days in three slots.
- Slot 1 is conducted during the morning shift where candidates can take a maximum of 4 tests. The CUET exam include one language from Section lA, two domain-specific subjects from section ll (maximum), and one General test from Section lll.
- Slot 2 is conducted during the afternoon where candidates can take a maximum of 5 tests in below mentioned manner:
- One language from Section lA & lB and four domain-specific subjects from Section-ll (maximum).
- Two languages from Section lA & IB and three domain-specific subjects from section ll (maximum).
- Slot 3 is conducted in the evening.

Candidates should completely check the CUET admit card its name, roll number, photograph, signature, date, timing, exam center, and exam slot. If there is any kind of discrepancy, the candidate should contact NTA using the helpline number.

CUET Exam Centres
CUET exam is organized at various exam centers that include within and outside India. Candidates can choose any 4 cities of their choice and accordingly candidates are allotted the exam centers. Moreover, due to logistic or administrative reasons, NTA can allot different exam cities too.

CUET FAQs
The CUET exam is conducted for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programs in central universities. Attempting the CUET exam helps candidate take admission across the country to participating central universities through a single exam itself.
Depending on the eligibility criteria released by individual universities, the candidate can apply for multiple courses at a time. But cannot submit multiple forms for the same course. If done so, it may result in the cancellation of all the application forms submitted by the candidate.
If the ‘Confirmation Page’ is not generated within 24 hours of completing the process of payment, the candidate should write an email at cuet@nta.ac.in specifying their application number, proof of payment, payment reference number, and registered mobile number or should raise a query in the query redressal system.
Yes, the extra amount is refunded to the candidate within 24 hours if the candidate makes the payment twice.
No, editing can be done once the CUET application form is submitted. However, a correction window may be opened by NTA. Once the correction window is closed, the details entered by the candidates are considered final.
Only scanned images of the photograph and signature should be uploaded along with the CUET application form. Certificates or documents are verified by the university at the time of admission.
