CAT 2025 Entrance Exam
Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national-level entrance exam held every year.
For the year 2025, Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) conduct CAT exam on a rotational basis.
Based on the performance of the aspirants in the CAT 2025 entrance exam they become eligible to move ahead with the further admission process in prestigious management schools such as IIM, IITs, SP Jain, FMS, MDI and many other.
CAT 2025 EXAM DATES
CAT 2025 REGISTRATION
The registration process for CAT 2025 will begin in the month of August 2025.
Aspirants can register for CAT 2025 exam till the fourth week of September 2025.
Registration process is divided into 4 simple steps:
REGISTRATION
- CAT 2025 registration can be done through online mode at the official website of CAT.
- You will get two options- Login & Registration
- You will have to select Registration to create an account.
- Aspirants will have to fill in the details like aspirant’s name, DOB, email ID, and phone number correctly.
- Make sure the email ID and the phone number are valid.
- Enter the security code shown aside.
- In the declaration section, check the box ‘I Agree’ and click on ‘Submit’ button.
- As the aspirant submits the form, they will get an OTP to verify the phone number.
- Once the verification is done, aspirant will receive the User ID and Password.
- Registration process is further divided into 2 steps.
CAT APPLICATION FORM 2025
- FILL IN THE APPLICATION FORM
- Select ‘Go to application form’.
- Fill in the application form with your details such as personal details, academics, work experience, programs.
- Aspirant’s Name and DOB will flash automatically based on details entered during registration.
- Then, type Father’s/Husband’s/guardian’s name and gender.
- Click on the category and nationality.
- Fill in postal address and if there is any other alternate email ID.
- Upload scanned image of photograph and signature.
- Fill in the academic details such as total marks obtained in 10th, 12th / diploma, bachelor’s degree (pursuing or completed), master degree details or any other professional degree details.
- Fill in the work experience details (if any).
- Choose the programme name (any number) and the exam centre city (maximum 4). Test centres will be allotted based on centre and node availability.
- Click on Save & Continue.
- FEE PAYMENT
- Application fees for GEN/OBC applicant is Rs. 2400/-.
- Application fees for SC/ST/PWC is Rs. 1200/-.
- Fees can be paid through Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking.
- Once the payment is successful, a message will be displayed on the screen along with the payment transaction number.
- Then, a confirmation email will be sent to the aspirant.
- Aspirant can take the printout of the filled application form by logging in again as an Existing User.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Photograph & Signature Specifications
- File should be jpg or jpeg format and should not exceed 80 KB.
- Photo should have a white background and should not be older than 6 months.
- Dimension of photograph and signature should be 35mm x 45mm and 80mm x 35mm respectively.

CAT 2025 APPLICATION CORRECTION
Applicants can make correction in the uploaded images (photograph & signature) of the application form in the last week of September. 2025.
Applicants can upload the correct images online only.
If the applicant wish to have a correction in other details then he/she may have to connect CAT help desk by sending an email at cathelpdesk@iimcat.ac.in
For Image correction in CAT 2025, applicants will have to follow below steps:

- Type your User ID and password to login.
- Once the application form opens, applicant can edit and reload their images.
- It is recommended to take print of the application form for further use.

CAT 2025 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicant should have secured minimum 50% marks graduation. Student from final year can also attempt CAT exam. CAT exam can be attempted number of times and there is no age limit to apply for the same.
- The Reserved seats for OBC: 27%
- The Reserved seats for SC Candidates: 15%
- The Reserved seats for ST candidates: 7.5%
- The Reserved seats for the person with disabilities: 3%
CAT 2025 Test Centres
Due to pandemic, students are recommended to strictly adhere to the guidelines laid by the government as well as the CAT exam conducting body. Due to pandemic, the CAT 2025 exam will be conducted in more than 425 test cities.

CAT 2025 ADMIT CARD
CAT Admit Card 2025 will be released in the last week of October 2025. Admit card will be issued to each successfully registered applicant only. Applicant will be able to download the admit card from the official website of CAT.
Aspirant need to carry the admit card to the examination centre without fail. Admit card is a mandatory document without which aspirant will not be allowed to sit for the CAT exam. It is advisable to keep the admit card safe until the admission procedure is over completely.
CAT 2025 ANSWER KEY
The provisional answer key of CAT 2025 will be released after few days once the CAT 2025 exam is over. Exam conducting authority would upload CAT 2025 answer key on their website. Applicants can access the answer key through online mode by using their CAT ID and password.
Objection facility for the answer key will be provided by the exam conducting authority. The facility will remain pertinent for few days wherein applicant can raise objection by paying Rs. 1200/- per question. Once the objection period gets over, the final answer key will be released.
CAT 2025 RESULT
CAT 2025 RESULT will be declared in the 2nd week of January 2025 soon after the release of final answer key. To view the result applicant will have to login to the website of the exam conducting authority. No result will be sent to any applicant via post or any other offline mode. Applicants are advised to take a print-out of the result for future use.
CAT 2025 CUT OFF
Cut off is the minimum marks applicant should score to become eligible for seeking admission into the IIMs. Each IIM would publish separate CAT 2025 cut-off for admission in the proposed programs through online mode after the declaration of result.
Cut-off will be released separately for different categories like NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD.
CAT 2025 ADMISSION PROCEDURE
CAT 2025 admission process will start after a few weeks of result. As there is no centralized counseling for CAT 2025 examination, each IIM conducts the final admission process in their respective campuses.
Once the CAT exam is over, further admission process includes; Group discussion (GD), personal interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT).
Applicants are advised to check the website of each IIM before applying for it as admission process is different for each IIM. Through registered email ID and phone number, an admission confirmation letter will be sent to each shortlisted applicant.
In order to accept the admission offer, applicants will have to report to their allocated center within the given time frame.
Applicants will get selected based on their overall performance. Academic records and work experience (if any) will also be considered while offering admission.
CAT 2025 RESERVATION CRITERIA
Apart from 5% relaxation of marks in graduation for SC/ST/ PwD applicants, there is no other reservation criteria for CAT exam.
Here is the percentage of seats reserved for SC, ST and NC-OBC applicants:
- Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15%
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) -7.5%
- Non-Creamy Layer- Other Backward Groups (NC-OBC) – 27%
- Person with Benchmark Disability (PwD) – 5%
According to RPwD Act 2016, person with not less than 40% of a specified disability is a person with benchmark disability. Here are the disabilities that fall under the category:
- Low vision and blind.
- Deaf
- Locomotor disability
- Autism, mental illness, specific learning disability, intellectual disability and others specified in RPwD Act 2016.
